Queensland Youth Week is proudly hosted by Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron with support from both Yachting Queensland, Yachting Australia and of course OAMPS Insurance Brokers.

The regatta is held annually in July with organisers doing their best to ensure an even overlap with each state’s school holidays

Competitors race on the beautiful waters of Waterloo Bay on the bayside suburb of Manly in Brisbane, Queensland

In 2011 a massive 238 boats with 271 sailors entered the regatta creating an impressive sight on the racing waters and on the grounds at RQYS.

2012 Yachting NSW Winter Training

Once again Yachting NSW will be providing the Winter Training Program providing ongoing sailing development opportunities over winter predominately for the following groups of sailors:

Sailors who are new to a class
Middle/back of the class fleet sailors looking to progress their skills

Training is conducted by YNSW trainee coaches who are supervised by NSWIS mentor coaches.

In the three years the program has been run, the program has grown substantially and now covers Upper Sydney Harbour, Northern Sydney Harbour, Southern Sydney and Lake Macquarie

This winter the program will be hosted by:

St George Sailing Club
Toronto Amateur Sailing Club
Hunters Hill Sailing Club
Middle Harbour 16′ Skiff Club

Judy & Karl Evans made life members of the Australian National Sabot Council

At the 2011 Australian National Sabot Council (ANSC), Annual General Meeting the motion was put forward to make Judy and Karl Evans life members of the council.

This motion was passed unanimously by the zones.

Judy and Karl have put a lot of work into Sabots over the years, and this was well deserved recognition by the national council.

When SNSW hosted the Sabot Nationals in 2007, Judy and Karl were the Sabot Week Patrons.
